Help Re-Elect Selonia Miles for Dumfries Town Council
Why I'm Running
I have served Dumfries for nearly eight years as a member of the Town Council, and I am running for reelection because I want to continue the work of improving the quality of life for our residents. Having lived, worked, and grown in Dumfries for over two decades, I understand the day-to-day realities our families face, and I believe our community deserves representation that knows those realities firsthand.
Throughout my tenure, I have built collaborative relationships and a track record of spearheading solutions to the problems affecting our town. I championed Autism Appreciation Day for Dumfries and established a partnership with the DMV so that adults with special needs can receive identification. I also worked to secure grant funding so that Dumfries kids can attend the Boys & Girls Club at no out-of-pocket cost, giving working parents reliable child care they can count on and giving our children a safe place to learn, play, and grow, because when we invest in our children, we invest in the future of our entire community.
My commitment to growing as a leader led me to graduate from the Louise Dewberry Institute, hosted by the National Organization of Black Elected Legislators, and I was recently appointed by Governor Spanberger to serve on the Commonwealth's Board of Medical Assistance Services. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am asking for your vote so I can keep working for Dumfries.
